Mass production of clothing uses thousands of liters of water, which of course has an impact on the availability of water in the world. Textile dyeing is also the second largest water polluter in the world. The rest of the water from the dyeing process is often dumped into ditches or rivers. In fast fashion, many use synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic, which take hundreds of years to decompose. This industry also often uses cheap and dangerous textile dyes. The impact is water pollution and poses a risk to human health.
