[September Thematic Report] Energy Generation |
---|
by Kyi Nue Chan Myae Win | 24-10-2022 20:00 0 |
Energy that is derived from resources that can be regenerated naturally over time and are therefore considered to be renewable. It includes energy sources like sunlight, wind, water currents, and geothermal heat. Despite the fact that the majority of renewable energy sources are sustainable, some are not. For instance, certain biomass sources are deemed unsustainable at the rate at which they are being used. Renewable energy frequently supplies energy for stand-alone power systems, air and water heating/cooling, and electricity generation to a grid.
In Myanmar, hydropower is the main source of electricity. The country is aiming that 12% of all electricity to be generated from renewable sources by 2025. Pros and cons of nuclear power -The main advantage on the environment is that it produces much less greenhouse gases compared to other energy sources. However, the radioactive waves from it can be lethal to the environment and hazardous to the people. Impact of fossil fuels The main impact is that fossil fuels can produce more greenhouse gases than any other source of energy which contributes to the global warming. reference: Wikipedia |

Hello, this is your mentor Minkyung.
Thank you for explaining the energy use in Myanmar. Please elaborate a little more on the pros and cons of nuclear power. Also, your report is about energy use, which is the theme for October, but your report title is 'extreme weather', the theme for September. So please check and correct this!
Additionally, just 'Wikipedia' cannot be the reference. Please include the exact website for your reference, or including a reliable source would be even better.
Keep up the work :)
