[February Thematic Report]: The Role of the Green Leaders of the Next Generation

by Meena Pandey | 04-02-2023 18:07 recommendations 0

The term "green transformational leadership" describes the behaviors of a leader that inspire followers to achieve environmental objectives and goals and push them to go above and beyond to achieve environmental performance, such as green inventiveness. Green practices and environmental pro-behavior are now required if an organization is to attain sustainable competitive advantage and sustained green growth. Understanding the fundamental drivers behind employees' green behavior at work has also become crucial. In order to achieve sustainable growth while taking environmental safety considerations into account, an alternative model must be sought out and supported by the continuing global economic crisis. Environmental effects have been a major worry in recent decades, not only for legislators but also for academics and business executives. Organizational leadership can influence employee green behavior, which in turn influences the overall green performance of businesses.

Green education must take place outside of the four walls of the classroom in order for young people to become sustainability leaders and environmental champions.

By creating a climate that is receptive and conducive to green organizational behavior, transformational leadership plays a significant role. Additionally, it is claimed that transformational leadership is a major factor in encouraging staff innovation.

For countries and organizations to achieve sustainable development, radical green creativity is required. Despite the fact that the influencing elements of green creativity have received a lot of attention, there is little research on the antecedents of green creativity.

Development is the top goal for emerging nations. Without sufficient assistance and access to low-carbon energy, developing nations will be forced to follow the tried-and-true route of fossil fuel-based development in order to provide their citizens with necessities like power, healthcare, and education. In order to ensure that all nations can take the necessary national action to combat climate change while fostering inclusive global cooperation that supports the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals, developed countries must take on the role of servant leaders.
