Forest management and Recirculation of Carbon
Sustainable Forest management is the process of planning and implementing practices for the stewardship and use of forests to meet specific environmental, economic, social and cultural objectives. (FAO) Forest management is a key factor in the recirculation of carbon. Forests play an important role in the global carbon cycle by sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it in biomass and soils. They also release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere through respiration and the burning of biomass. Proper forest management can help to maximize carbon sequestration and minimize carbon emissions, thus helping to regulate the global climate. The proper management can be achieved through the 7 thematic elements of Sustainable Forest management which include: -Extent of forest resources -Forest biological diversity -Forest health and vitality -Productive functions of forest resources -Protective functions of forest resources -Socio-economic functions of forest resources -Legal, policy and institutional framework References Natural Forest Management https://www.fao.org/forestry/sfm/85084/en/#:~:text=Forest%20management%20is%20the%20process,managing%20nature%20and%20 planted%20 forests. |

Hello, this is your mentor Minkyung.
Thank you for sharing your insight on forest management. If you could provide some specific examples, statistics, or exemplars of how the thematic elements are being implemented nowadays, your report would be much richer in content.
Keep up the work :)
