Wildlife is the most important creature on the earth. Most wildlife is at threat of extinction due to climate change and human encroachment. Wildlife Preservation means the preservation of wildlife and their habitat. Wildlife can play the important role in a country¡¯s economy by attracting tourists. Preservation of Wildlife species is also important for livelihood. Nepal is home to a diversity of wildlife including the Tiger, One-horned rhinoceros, snow leopard, and many more which are on the brink of extinction.

Wildlife are at extinction due to the following activities

Developmental activities like the construction of roads lead to the fragmentation of wildlife habitat and affect their movement.

Encroachment and poaching for their body parts, illegal hunting.

Deforestation

Climate change-Change in weather patterns also affects wildlife.

Due to the different reasons wildlife are at threat so we should think about the development with conservation. Development of underpass/overpass for their movement. We should focus on the community-based conservation program and different awareness campaigns on the conservation of wildlife and its importance.

    Hello again Lhamu!

It is sad to hear that a handful of species are endangered in Nepal. I didn't know there are even rhinoceros species in Nepal! As you said, road construction and deforestation certainly directly affects the livelihood of these rare creatures as well as climate change. Thus, contributions made my local communities and environmental organizations are crucial to preserve such biodiversity.

Thanks Lhamu for this report! Enjoyed reading it.
