WILDLIFE PRESERVATION Wildlife preservation refers to the practice of protecting wild species and their habitats inorder to maintain healthy species or human populations. Major threats to wildlife include habitat, destruction, degradation, fragmentation, overexploitation, poaching, pollution and climate change. CURRENT STATUS OF GLOBAL LIFE The world's population's plummeted by an average of 69% between 1970 and 2018, a dangerous decline resulting from climate change and others human activity. human activity has wiped two-thirds of the world's wildlife since 1970. MEANS OF PRESERVATION OF WILDLIFE Developing protective areas such as National parks, Wildlife sanctuaries to protect the animals in their natural habitat. The endangered and vulnerable species can be kept in captivity in places such as zoos, and bred to increase their population. National parks are created and protected by national government. it is a reserve of natural,semi-natural or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Wildlife sanctuaries are facilities where animals are brought to live and protected for the rest of their lives. EFFECT OF RAPID URBANIZATION AND POLLUTION ON WILDLIFE This rapid urbanization poses challenges for sustainable development and public health. but the picture even looks grimmer for animals. During the process of urbanization some animals species would disappear from newly urbanized habitat e. g birds that feeds on specific natural food source will fly to others areas to search for food. species that can not move as fast as urbanization will filter bird communities. The unprecedented rate of urbanization poses a threat to biodiversity. it prevents one of the biggest environmental changes of our time. In pollution, all these effects combine to create a severe threat to wildlife survival. Everyday the byproducts of our daily lives such as sewage, exhaust, trash, agricultural and lawn chemicals make their way via air and water in the natural environment. Excess Nutrients such as fertilizers are used on farms, many of the excess nutrients not absorbed by plants run off into near by streams, lake, rivers, causing health problems to man. Also the amount of climate change pollution released into the atmosphere causes global warming. EFFECT OF ENERGY DEVELOPMENT ON WILDLIFE/ENVIRONMENT The environmental problems directly related to energy production and consumption include water pollution, air pollution, solid waste disposal, and climate changes. Access to abundant, affordable, secure, safe and clean energy is beneficial for humans. Renewable energy infrastructure can be a risk to some wildlife including threatened and endangered species. FLORA AND FAUNA OF THE GLOBE Our ecosystem, the Flora and fauna are all interdependent through food chains. it starts from the primary producers, the plants and ends with the secondary producers. |

Hello Odigie! This is your mentor James!
Firstly, my apologies for the late comments.
I see that you have encompassed all the topics that I've mentioned in the announcement email! What a report! It is certainly sad to hear that two thirds of the wildlife population have been diminished mainly by human activity over the past few decades. A progressive solution to this problem would be expanding national parks, reserves, and wildlife sanctuaries for diverse flora and fauna to flourish!
Thank you for your contribution! Looking forward to reading your next report.

Hello Odigie! This is your mentor Yewon.
Thank you for your great work on wildlife preservation!
You have written the report about several topics related to wildlife, including rapid urbanization, pollution and energy development!
Also I liked the part you wrote about flora and fauna of the globe! I firmly think that it??s the basic principle of ecosystem, so that??s the reason why we should preserve wildlife flora and fauna!
Thank you for sharing your opinion with us! I hope to read your next report, too!
