Switching from hydrogen to fossil fuels is a complex topic that requires careful consideration of numerous factors. While hydrogen has long been touted as a clean and effective alternative to fossil fuels , recent research has suggested that the production and distribution of hydrogen may not be as environmentally friendly as once thought. As a result, some experts have begun to question whether a switch back to fossil fuels might actually be a better option in the long run.
One of the primary concerns withhydrogen is its production process, which often involves the use of fossil fuels such as natural gas. This means that, while hydrogen itself may be clean and emission free, the process of creating it is not. Additionally the distribution of hydrogen can be challenging due to the need for specialized infrastructure, which can be costly to build and maintain. By contrast, fossil fuels are already well-established as a source of energy, and infrastructure for their production, transportation, and use is widely available. However, the environmental impact of fossil fuels is well documented, with greenhouse gass emissions contributing to climate change and other negative impacts on the environment. Despite these concerns, some argue that the switch back to fossil fuels could actually be beneficial in certain circumstances. For example, in areas where infrastructure for hydrogen production and distribution is lacking, a switch to fossil fuels could provide a more efficient and cost effective means of meeting energy needs. Similarly, in regions where renewable energy sources are not yet fully developed, fossil fuels may be a necessary stop gap measure. Ultimately, the decision to switch from hydrogen to fossil fuels should be made on a case by case basis, taking into account a range of factors including local energy needs, available infrastructure, and environmental concerns. While both hydrogen and fossil fuels have their advantages and disadvantages, it is clear that the future of energy production will require a diverse mix of sources in order to meet the needs of a growing global population while minimizing negative impacts on the environment. |

Hello Patience! Again, this is your mentor Yewon.
What an interesting topic! I have thought that Hydrogen is a good alternative of fossil fuels because fossil fuels are not only limited but also emitting lots of pollutants. However, your point of view is very impressive, and it made me to think again about hydrogen. I agree with your opinion that we should consider many factors in order to switch to hydrogen!
Thank you for your great report!

Hello again, Patience!
Now this is a very interesting point of view. I am a supporter of building a hydrogen economy, but I am eager to explore the opposite views and reasons. It is true that currently most of the hydrogen produced is done by using energy from LNG or is collected as by-products from petrochemical processes. Thus, I think it is important for the industrial R&D sector to find a highly efficient green hydrogen production mechanism in order to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels even when producing hydrogen fuels. I agree with your opinion that local regions without sufficient infrastructure should maintain fossil fuel energy production in order to develop their economy beforehand.
Thank you for your article and your opinion! It was truly interesting to read.
