The Effects of Air Pollution Exposure to air pollution can lead to a range of health problems, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurological disorders. Children, the elderly, and people with pre-existing health conditions are particularly vulnerable to the effects of air pollution. Moreover, air pollution can also harm the environment, including reducing crop yields, acidifying lakes and rivers, and damaging buildings and monuments. Air Quality Over Time Over the past few decades, air quality has improved in many developed countries due to the implementation of stricter environmental regulations and the use of cleaner technologies. However, in many developing countries, air pollution continues to be a growing problem, as they undergo rapid industrialization and urbanization. Technologies for Air Filters and Air Capture Research In addition to reducing emissions, technologies are being developed to filter and capture pollutants from the air. Air filters can be used to remove particulate matter and chemicals from indoor air, which can help to improve indoor air quality. Moreover, air capture technologies are being developed to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which can help to mitigate the effects of climate change. Causes of Global Warming Air pollution is a major contributor to global warming, which is causing significant changes to our climate. Thanks for including all the topics that I've mentioned in the Topic Announcement email! The fact that air pollution results in not only human-related heath issues, but also agricultural and ecological deterioration shocks me. Human society is already facing huge problems related to food supply, and I guess air pollutants would just make things worse. I just hope that direct air filtration technology would be commercialized soon enough.
