Organic Farming If we rewind the time and go back to the old days, we can find that there were no chemical fertilizers used in farming. But when world population increased dramatically, old farming techniques were not able to keep up with over-increasing demands. Then research in chemical fertilizers came as a saviour. It changes the face of agriculture. In the beginning it seems to be totally fruitful but as the time passes it was found to be the most irritating factor for soil and its components. It is found that use of fertilizers is totally bad, which decreases the fertility of soil and it's sustainability. People know about this fact clearly but still they are practicing it. No one seems to be concerned about it. It's now time that we must forget the use of chemical fertilizers instead we should focus towards Organic Farming. Organic Farming simply means a kind of agricultural practice where harmful chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides are not used. It is primarily based on developing and cultivating land using only natural resources such as soil, water and air. Simply, you can recognise organic farming as a farming technique that was mainly followed by our ancestors. The main purpose of organic farming is to develop healthy and nutritious crops as well as to save our environment from degradation and pollution. Mainly there are two types of organic farming. They are :
Ever since there has been continuous development, we humans have slowly forgotten our ancestors' doings instead of that we are following modern trends. Organic farming was found being practiced everywhere in the past but presently in many places it is replaced by inorganic farming. With the aim of supplying more goods within a short interval of time, inorganic farming is being practiced. Organic farming products are best but they need more time to be produced in comparison with inorganic products. This is one of the main reasons that organic farming is being replaced. In the present world, organic farming is the best and most viable alternative for traditional farming techniques. In the present context, people are attracted towards quantity rather than quality. Organic farming is best as it produces qualitative agro goods that are good for health as well as for the environment. Similarly, organic farming is vital for the production of healthy and quality agricultural outputs as compared to inorganic farming. Organic farming is totally environment friendly since it helps improve soil fertility and thereby the repeated use of that particular patch of land for agricultural purposes is possible. This in turn, helps in reducing deforestation caused due to agricultural practices. Organic farming also helps countries to achieve sustainable use of natural resources. Non-renewable natural resources such as water and coal are increasingly used by the agricultural industry and hence and hence in cultivating organic farming will save our natural resources also. Therefore organic farming must be practiced on every land of this mother earth so that sustainability will be secured for the future. |

Hello Kaushal! This is your mentor Yewon.
I apologize for the late comment.
You have written a report about organic farming, which was very interesting!
Especially, it was interesting to me that there are two types of organic farming, which are pure and integrated.
Frankly speaking, I didn't know well about organic farming before, but I could learn a lot from your report!
Thank you for your meaningful report! Great job!

Hello Kaushal! This is your mentor James.
The term "organic" is gaining popularity in the consumer trends. Less harmful chemicals and fertilizers means less harmful effects to the consumer's health, but also less damage to the environment as well!
But my concern is, without those fertilizers and pesticides, yield from the same patch of land may be dwindling. What solutions are there to solve this problem in a greener way?
Thanks again for this lovely writing!
