[March Themetic Report] Wildlife Preservation

Creatures that live in forests and are still unaccustomed to human interaction are referred to as wildlife. These species are not domesticated and dwell in their natural habitats apart from people. The forest is home to numerous wildlife species, including lions, crocodiles, and rhinoceroses. They are typically hunted for their flesh, skins, horns, and nails. Clothing, ropes, and many other useful products are made from skins. These animals are exclusively killed by humans to satisfy needless wants that can be satisfied in other ways. Hence, wildlife conservation involves stopping indiscriminate poaching and slaughter of animal species. It is a unique method for preserving the wildlife on Earth and its habitat so that it can continue to exist fearlessly for future generations.

The preservation of wildlife is crucial for the stability of the food chain and the ecosystem. If all the tigers are killed for their skins, the number of deer dramatically rises. Also, there would be no source of eggs if people killed every hen for meat. In order to sustain the number of animals on Earth and their place in the ecosystem and food chain, wildlife conservation is therefore essential. Over time, there have been more flora and fauna species that are on the endangered list. The nation's wildlife is being managed and protected at the state and federal levels.

By establishing national parks, sanctuaries, reserve forests, and other conservation measures, it is possible to protect the habitat of species. The majority of the representative habitat types in the nation are covered by these networks of protected areas, which offer protection to both wild plants and animals. The development of environmental consciousness, the adoption of the proper attitude, and the ways in which everyone may support conservation efforts. Public understanding of conservation issues can be greatly aided by the use of mass media, including radio, television, newspapers, zoos, and natural history museums as well as national parks and wildlife refuges. The provision of seeds back in different places helps to store the germplasm of rare plant species. The role of various national and international organizations like The World Wildlife Fund (WFF), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), African Wildlife Foundation(AWF) and many more play a vital role in the conservation of wildlife .And of course we human should always be conscious that our activities must not hurt any creature.

Hello Sonika! This is your mentor James.

The direct reason behind protecting wildlife is indeed to maintain the balance in the ecosystem and the food chain. If balance is lost, extreme overpopulation of one species and near extinction of another would soon occur.

To tackle this problem, expanding national reserves, raising public awareness, and intervention of the government and institutions seems to be effective solutions.

Thanks for this meaningful report! Let's keep up the good work!
