30th Ambassadorship Title: [Free report] Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Month 2, Report 1 The one of the biggest environmental issues that the globe facing now is climate change. Rising sea levels, altered weather patterns, and an increase in extreme weather events like floods, droughts, and wildfires are just a few of the ways it is already having an impact. To combat climate change, mitigation and adaptation are two essential strategies that must be applied. Actions made to lessen the emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs) such carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide can be termed as mitigation. Burning fossil fuels, the foundation of contemporary economies, is the largest source of GHGs. Therefore, mitigation strategies aims to lessen the consumption of fossil fuels while promoting the use of renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and hydropower. Other measures include carbon capture and storage, increasing energy efficiency, and conserving energy. On the other hand, adaptation describes measures made to counteract the effects of climate change that cannot be prevented by mitigation. By increasing resilience and adaptive capability, adaptation methods seek to lessen the susceptibility of communities and ecosystems to climate change. The creation of early warning systems, better water management, the building of flood barriers, and the encouragement of climate-resilient agriculture are examples of adaptation initiatives. The two methods of addressing climate change, mitigation and adaptation, are complimentary rather than mutually exclusive. Combining the two strategies can support sustainable development while reducing climate change's risks and effects. For instance, mitigation strategies can lessen the impact of climate change and the need for adaptation, whereas adaptation strategies can lessen its effects on the environment, economy, and social systems. The combination of policy, technologies, and behavioral modifications is necessary for mitigation and adaptation initiatives. Setting goals, offering incentives, and putting rules into place are all important ways that governments support mitigation and adaptation initiatives. By lowering their carbon footprints and making climate change adaptations, businesses, people, and communities can all contribute. In conclusion, climate change is an issue that affects the entire world and necessitates both adaptation and mitigation strategies. While adaptation methods work to increase resilience and adaptability, mitigation efforts strive to lower greenhouse gas emissions. Combining the two strategies can support sustainable development while reducing the risks and effects of climate change. Each of these groups; governments, corporations, people, and communities has a responsibility to solve climate change. We can build a more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations if we work together.

Hello again Alok! This is your mentor Yewon.
This time, you have written a report about climate change!
Especially you focused on two sides, adaptation, and mitigation, which was quite interesting!
I strongly agree with your opinion that we should combine those two strategies properly so that we could respond to the climate change problem well.
Thank you for your meaningful report! Great job!

Hello Alok! This is your mentor James.
First of all, terribly sorry for the late comment!
I see that your topic for this report is climate change and certain measures that our society can take to hold it back. These methods can be categorized into two broad fields: reducing the emission and lowering the concentration of air pollutants. CCUS and air filtration would be included in the former whereas DAC technology and forest restoration would be included in the latter!
Thanks for writing such a meaningful report! Let's keep up the good work.
