Wild life conservation is crucial for reasons such as ecological balance, biodiversity, and scientific research. Wild life conservation helps to maintain a diverse range of species in the natural world. Each species plays a unique role in the ecosystem, and the loss of one species have a cascading effect on others. The preservation of biodiversity helps ensure the health and balance of the whole ecosystem. As well, wild life preservation provides opportunities for scientific discovery. Studying wildlife can help us to better understand the natural world and can lead to remarkable breakthroughs in medicine, technology and many other fields as well. For example, African forest elephants are one of the many endangered species. They have become endangered especially due to poaching with the high demand for their ivories. Climate change and following habitat loss can also be the cause to this situation. To talk about their features, African forest elephants are smaller than other African elephant species. Forest elephants have a much slower reproductive rate than savanna elephants, so they cannot bounce back from population declines as quickly at the same rate. That is why it is especially hard for these particular species to recover. They forage on leaves, grasses, seeds etc. Since their diet is for the most part based on fruits, the elephants play the essential role of spreading the diverse tree species. They have a significant role in the ecosystem like all the other species do. All living species are interconnected with each other forming a huge net. It is crucial that we work on wildlife conservation. |

Hello again Seoyoon! This is your mentor James!
Wildlife conservation is a must in our society today due to rapidly increasing number of endangered species as well as rate of extinction. As you've mentioned, illegal hunting and poaching of animals, such as the African forest elephant, and the loss of natural habitats due to deforestation would be the predominant causes of the damaged biodiversity. For these elephants, population restoration is especially difficult, so it would take time to regain the original number of the species. Thus, effective protection should be implemented ASAP.
Thank you for your fantastic work! Let's keep it up with your next report as well.

Hello Seoyoon! Again, this is your mentor Yewon.
In this report, you have written about wildlife preservation and you also gave an example of endangered animal.
I have heard about African forest elephants before, and I think that it is a big tragedy that they became endangered due to poaching.
I like the sentence you wrote above, " All living species are interconnected with each other forming a huge net."
We should always remember this and try hard to preserve wildlife!
Thank you for sharing! I hope to read more reports from you!
