We live in a era where the use of smart technologies as a means of mitigating the effects of climate change and restoring a depreciating planet is most needed. Smart technologies are technologies that uses less materials, produces less pollution and are sustainable. Some of these technologies include; anaerobic digestion (the biological decomposition of biodegradable material by anaerobic microorganisms in the absence of oxygen to produce bio-gas and fertilizer), solar technologies, rainwater harvesting, composting etc. Mostly of these technologies provide us with typically means of Preventing waste, disposing and recovering energy. With the recent increase in the prices of most household necessity such as cooking gas,fossil fuels products, reliable sources of electricity in Cameroon, many of it citizens are making a turn to less costly and more sustainable way to manage their homes. One of the most common adaptation is the construction/ renovation of eco buildings which mean components include; a biogas digester, solar system, aerobic digesters. With all the benefits the comes with using smart technologies, the country still face the challenges of having very few expertisers in these fields. Eventhough in a long-term, they are cost effective, the costs associated with with installation is a great barrier for many interested in these technologies.

First of all, I'm terribly sorry for the late comment!
I love the fact that you've emphasized the importance of smart technology development, especially regarding the microbial respiration. Fertilizers made in this manner may also be biodegradable in the fields once used! Also, municipal waste may also be effectively managed and reused to produce biogas as you've mentioned!

I think the idea of smart technologies is a great solution to the question of our theme, eco-friendly urban technologies!
Especially, the example of anaerobic digestion you mentioned above was very interesting to me!
Also, I think that renewable energy including solar energy is a good answer to it, since we can regulate it with technologies!
