[May Free report] Companies for the Earth

by Wooyeong Kim | 31-05-2023 23:44 recommendations 0

ESG, the harmony of Environment, Society, and Governance is in charge of the central axis of the business these days. This business tendency is not for the profit of those companies, but also for the environment that we are now living in as well as the next generation. To get into this flow, many startup companies are jumping into the recycling and upcycling industries for innovative business items.

Then, what is the difference between upcycling and recycling? Upcycling stands for the process of transforming waste and useless products into new products that have better qualities. However, recycling is finding a way of using waste and useless products for other useful and desirable methods. These days, these two terms are distinctively important in the market business.

SuperBin is a representative company working for resource recycling. This company has installed their special machine ¡®Nephron¡¯ all over the country. Nephron is for collecting plastic bottles and returning them to the users as a form of points as they throw out those bottles. Nephron equips its AI system (NEURO-GENIE) to distinguish whether the plastic bottles thrown out are able to upcycle. Furthermore, Nephron has robotics systems and utilizes the bigdata for greater efficiency and availability.

Food residue is a factor that also contributes to the Earth's contamination. To resolve this problem, Reharvest, the food upcycling company, has suggested a solution that utilizes the leftovers to be a whole new product! It has used the by-products and low-worth ingredients that occur during food production. Reharvest made a protein ball snack using the by-products of barley after making beer. By using 1kg of those by-products, you can reduce 11kg of carbon emissions, 3.7 tons of water, and 3 kilograms of by-products. These attempts are so supportive to enlighten the public to think about food by-products and their potential.

Touch For Good is an upcycling manufacturer with resources that have generally been used for a short time and discarded since 2008. For their fancy and also practical goods, there are blankets, jackets, and masks made of PET. In addition, they are making lots of effort to inform people about the possibilities of waste by selling daily goods. And they are trying to make the governance and connection with other companies to establish eco-friendly policies and technologies that benefit all of them.

The attention and ardent application of these environment-related businesses are leading society to more eco-friendly ways.

First of all, sorry for the late comment!

I see you've introduced a handful of firms in the world which utilize eco-friendly technologies that can be implemented in urban societies! Starting from plastic bottle recycling to plastic fiber upcycling, you've explained the background information and the environmental benefits of those companies. Personally, I think reducing food waste is also a crucial role of our society to promote a sustainable food supply in the future!
