EFFECT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON INDUSTRIAL GROWTH IN TANZANIA Introduction. According to the United Nations, climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Climate change can be caused naturally or artificially. Naturally, climate change occurs through Flooding, Hurricanes, storms, volcanic eruptions, etc. Artificial climate change may be caused by deforestation due to population growth, air pollution from heavy-duty factories (i.e., nuclear power plants), intentional water pollution, plastic pollution, etc. An example of climate change includes rising sea levels, Global warming, Ice melting, a rising amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide, a lack or little amount of rainfall, stronger UV light than normal, etc. EFFECT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON INDUSTRIAL GROWTH 1. Effect on agricultural processing industries In Tanzania, about 50% of manufacturing industries are agricultural processing industries, which include commercial crops like cotton and sisal and food crops like maize, oil, rice, Cashew nuts, etc. Most agricultural manufacturing industries are directly affected by climate change, as 95% of Tanzania's agriculture depends on rainfall as a source of water. When climate change affects rainfall in one way or another, it leads to a world disaster of lack of food and suffering from hunger. 2. Effect on energy source infrastructures As a result of flooding, most of the energy source infrastructure is broken down, i.e., electric poles are carried out by strong flooding tides, hurricanes affect wind energy source facilities, and this actually affects energy availability for running industries around Tanzania. Due to this, most industries have their own generators for power generation. 3. Effect on HEP plants As we know, HEP plants use water to generate electric power. Climate change always affects rainfall content and leads to severe drought. HEP plants in Tanzania are now highly affected by low amounts of water in rivers where they are installed, i.e., the best and largest HEP station in Tanzania is Julius Nyerere HEP station located in Morogoro, which depends on water from the Rufiji River. This HEP plant is now highly affected by low amounts of water in the Rufiji River from last year due to a lack of rainfall. This actually affects manufacturing industries directly since they are electric power generators in Tanzania. (The Low amount of electric power is due to the low amount of river water for power generation.) 4. Effect on investors As we know, Tanzania is a developing country with one of the fastest-growing economies among Sub-Saharan African countries. Investors are the ones who bring innovation to a specific sector, mainly in industrial sectors. For a country to attract investors, all the required factors have to be in place, one of which is good and stable climatic conditions. Changes in climatic conditions, such as unexpected global warming that is highly affecting one of our most business-oriented cities, Dar es Salaam, actually affect investors decisions to invest in Tanzania due to higher than normal temperatures, a lack of rainfall, etc. Due to that, climate change affects the growth of industrial sectors in most countries around the world.

Hello Baraka! This is your mentor Yewon.
Before I start, I apologize for the late comment.
You have written a report about the effects of climate change on industries. focusing on five main effects.
Among them, I want to emphasize the effect on energy source infrastructure!
Thank you for your meaningful report! Great job!
