There are many species of bamboo found in Nepal. It is a type of grass that grows fast requires no pesticides and chemical fertilizer and matures in 3 to 5 years. It is easy and takes less time to grow. It does not need replanting. It requires no irrigation and grows in a wide range of environments. It is a type of grass that emerges from the ground; when cut, it quickly regrows, with the majority of species reaching maturity in three to five years. This amazing plant is extremely hardy, growing well without pesticides or herbicides in both tropical and temperate environments. Bamboo can be planted for soil conservation and land which are prone to a landslide for reduction of risk. Compared to other types of fibre, especially synthetic ones, its production into fibres has a smaller negative impact on the environment. Bamboo leaves can be used as forages and stems are used to make baskets, cutlery spoons and ladles which is eco-friendly and durable. It can be used to make beds, chairs and tables. Large stems can be used to make houses too. |

Hello Lhamu! This is your mentor James.
You described the various ways to use bamboo well. As you mentioned, bamboo is effective in preventing landslides and becomes a raw material for producing eco-friendly fibers. I am sure it will be a richer report if you describe the advantages and disadvantages of using bamboo.
Thank you for your inspiring work! Let's keep it up with your next report as well.
