[October free report] Infanstructure and Access to Basic Needs in Rural Philippines

by Jae Hee Lee | 28-10-2023 00:50 recommendations 2

Bulacan province, located in the Philippines, places significant challenges when it comes to basic infrastructure. Many rural areas still lack access to proper sewer systems making sanitation and clean water distribution difficult. The absence of adequate food resources  and clean water troubles the local population.

In partnership with Share a Hope, a non-profit organization, I organized material drives to support those affected by displacement in Bulacan. These drives aimed to meet the  local population's immediate needs.  Share A Hope collaborated with Rural Rising Philippines, an organization dedicated to empowering local farmers. By working together, we were able to obtain a range of fruits and vegetables as well as other essential supplies to help the impacted populace.

As part of our efforts, we gave 120 kids little packets of snacks and clean water.  In addition, we supplied the town daycare center with large amounts of raw fruit and drinks, which helped contribute to the local food supply.

The struggles faced by the Bulacan population serve as a reminder of the crucial need for improved food and water infrastructure in the Philippines' rural communities.

As a Tunza Eco Ambassador, I held responsibility in raising awareness of these issues and initiating actions to address them. Although we were able to give immediate help by collaborating with NGOs and local organizations, the Philippines still have a long way to go before the nation can fully adopt a sustainable environment in which the majority of the population has access to basic necessities.

Our visit to Bulacan highlighted the importance of water and food security. Access to clean and safe water and adequate nutrition is essential for the overall well-being of  all individuals and communities. To meet these basic demands, rural places like those in Bulacan require continuous assistance and development.

    Hello, this is mentor Seeun.
It?? great to hear that you actually took part in the movement to help children without their basic needs being fulfilled. Volunteer work can be hard, but it sure is worth it!
    Keep up the great work!

Highlighting on the necessity for better food and water security in rural areas and emphasizing on the need for continuous support to these areas is a very nice idea 👍. Sometimes these people need someone to be their voice and I'm glad 🤗 you did...👏✅👍
