What is green construction?

Green construction is a type of construction and building operation with minimal impact on the environment. Its goal is to reduce the consumption of energy and material resources throughout the building's lifecycle. Green construction involves implementing environmentally responsible and resource-efficient processes throughout the entire life cycle of a building, considering its impact on the environment from planning and design to construction, operation, maintenance, reconstruction, and demolition.

What are the benefits of green construction?

The benefits of green buildings can be assessed in three categories: environmental, economic, and social advantages. By applying eco-friendly methods, we can maximize energy efficiency and economic performance. Green construction methods provide significant benefits when integrated with environmentally friendly design and construction.

l  Environmental benefits of green construction include

l  Reduction of water and energy consumption.

l  Protection of natural resources, improving water and air quality.

l  Preservation of biodiversity and ecosystems.

l  Use of renewable energy sources, such as solar power.

l  Measures to reduce pollution and waste, as well as reuse and recycling of materials.

l  Use of non-toxic, ethical, and eco-friendly materials.

l  Consideration of environmental conditions in design and construction, with adaptation to changing circumstances.

l  Economic benefits of 'green' construction include:

l  Cost reduction and increased value.

l  Enhanced productivity for users.

Green construction supports a healthier, happier, and more productive life.

Focus on creating savings on electricity bills for tenants or households through energy and water efficiency.

Creation of a market for other green products and services.

Green construction contributes to the recycling of materials and water, bringing profits to real estate investors.

Social benefits of 'green' construction include:

l  Improved quality of life by considering users in the design, construction, and operation of green buildings.

l  Enhancement of health and comfort.

l  Minimization of the burden on local infrastructure.
