Kudus, Indonesia - Environment has given its life to fulfill our needs. Of course, we have to keep the sustainability inside.

In Central Java Province, the university students as well as the inhabitants met together for "Djarum Trees for Life" program since 5 December 2011. They discussed what the suitable trees that can survive well in that area, what kind of trees that inhabitants really need, and other discussion toward a sustainable tree planting program. By doing this meeting first, this program can build a better ecosystem with the supporting people who will take care of it inside. After the survey finished, they directly followed it up by planting totally 7,100 trees in the slope of Muria mountain in Menawan village, Kudus on 17 -- 18 December 2011. Even, the Program Director of Djarum Trees for Life - Handoyo Setyo, the military district commander of Kudus - Dandim, and the representative of Kudus' regent also took a part in planting trees.

Some types of the trees that have been planted in this year-end were:
- 4,200 Syzygium aromaticum
- 2,500 Coffea robusta Lindau
- 300 Eugenia aquea
- 100 Parkia speciosa
The main reason of this program is to keep the sustainable ecosystem within the spring as the water resource for 3 cities: Kudus, Pati, and Jepara. Hopefully, by planting the trees that meet with inhabitants' desires, they can have a bigger sense of belonging to increase their awareness on the conservation. Of course, they also can feel the results afterward.

Beside the meeting discussion before action, the other uniqueness of this program is not only talking about tree planting, but also about the fun education to motivate participants with environmental-friendly spirit. This program also invited some speakers such as Vania Santoso from AV Peduli, Linda from France representative, etc. to share knowledge and experience as motivation and plant trees together as well. Even, there was an amazing environmental movie "EARTH" that showed participants how the earth is in the need of our hands due to the negative effect of global warming.

This is a really enthusiastic program, both for conserving ecosystem and raising prosperity of inhabitants. Djarum Trees for Life itself also has done the sustainable program since 5 years ago, by planting approximately:
- 3,000 trees in Soco village in 2006
- 1,700 trees in Ternadi village in 2007
- 3,500 trees in Ternadi village in 2008
- 11,600 trees in Kuwukan village in 2009
- 8,950 trees in Ternadi & Soco villages in 2010
- 6,500 trees in Pandak Colo village in the beginning of 2011
- 7,100 trees in Menawan village in the end of 2011 as has been mentioned above.

Let's heal the world in sustain! The method of this program by having discussion and observation first before planting trees can be inspiring ideas to be applied in each region for reaching the sustainability. Together we can do it!
