Due to Thane not only the trees but also agro fields are affected.  Food grains are spoiled by the rain during Thane.  So the food production in  Cuddalore, Nagai, Tiruvarur in Tamilnadu decreases very much.  So the cost of daily usage things like rice, tamarind, cashewnut, coconut etc. have a hike in price. The poor people struggle more to buy those things.  Our government allot more fund to the recovery.  Our collector  announced that within five years five lakhs trees are to be planted in Cuddalore district.I was called by them on that day via my mother?s mobile.  I?ll participate in that program which will be take part in Chidambaram by next month.  Thane  affects the Cuddalore economically also.  Most of the tourist spots like boating area, Oosutteri Birds Sanctuary, beach side park etc are damaged by this Thane. In Birds sanctuary the migration of birds from foreign countries are reduced due to the fell down of trees. The trees near the sea shore are fell down and the soil in that area is affected by erosion. Oosutteri is one of the best wet lands in Asia among  115 wetlands announced by Asian Wetlands Organization.  But now trees in those area are fully affected by Thane.
