Think.Eat.Save

All of us, as humans, keep thinking that our world has ruined from the time the Earth was born. The blessing of Technology has been often compared to as a curse for man. Clearing off forests, hunting animals, pollution the water, air and land, etc, our list of cruel deeds have no end. But have we ever thought that we can change our world into a better situation from where it was born? Seldom might have thought so.

21st century has seen the advent of many new inventions and discoveries of man. Well, so has been the increase in the waste in our landfills. A major component of these wastes is Food.
?A billion are in hunger, while another billion are overweight?
We have to retrospect to some situations that happen daily in our normal lives. We come across the thing called food at least 2 times a day. Most of us waste food. If you had taken a count of how much food you had wasted since you were born, it might amount to huge numbers. So, take a thought and look back. Can there be done something further?

Think.Eat.Save

Well, food is something that ensures human survival on earth. Food has much more important than technology in this world. We must think of people all around the world. The world is now undergoing the rule of the rich and the poverty of the poor. Unless wealth starts flowing to poor homes/ food is being delivered properly, then only we can ensure survival of our fellow humans.

We need to start thinking before we come across food. Start analyzing before you start cooking whether is something left at home or before you throw some food into the dustbin. Can it be used tomorrow if well stored? Maybe, you can create an entirely new recipe with leftover food or what else? Create a dish with least wastage of food as possible!
Then eat it well, don?t waste a lot! In case you don?t want a large serving, make sure you take less and then go and take it again in case your hunger is not satisfied. And then, save the rest for a better tomorrow.

As an individual, I am devoted for making a change in all possible aspects of my life as well as motive and encourage others to do so as well. This year WED celebrated the same topic and that was indeed a wonderful way through which many people were able to know about the harmful effects of Food Wastage.
First of all, whenever I eat buffets, etc, I try to take small servings and go and take another helping if needed, instead of taking a very large serving and then wasting it eventually.

Also, as a part of Students for the Earth?s initiatives we organized a competition getting entries from students on how they are reducing food waste in their societies. Also, we posted media on our page.

There are a million ways how you can make a difference. But the first step in all such cases is that you should make the first step and then spreading it to others. So, one last though, ?Think.Eat.Save? and the World will get saved!
