Now days, children and youth have not concerned and fully ignored agriculture because of the simple reason. For instance, agriculture is in the field and is about farmer, it is so disgusting. So, of the statement, we can guess that agriculture is not interesting realm to be studied.

However, in the lack of awareness of children and youth, there is an effort to help increase the hidden favor of them on ascertaining agriculture in detail. A magnitude initiative formed is by movement or related ways engaging children and youth such as YUNGA.

I was admiring an initiative of UNFAO, namely YUNGA, It?s really so amazing. YUNGA is an abbreviation of the Youth and United Nations Global Alliance, initiated by Food and Agriculture Organization of The United Nations.

This alliance includes and engages much more children and youth on increasing the awareness to agriculture and the derivates of agriculture. The derivates of agriculture here are forestry, food, biodiversity, fishery, poultry, climate change and the environment.

How does YUNGA Works? YUNGA works under auspices of UNFAO by mobilizing children and youth around the world in increasing the awareness about agriculture and derived agriculture realms. YUNGA have help infiltrate the soul of agriculture to much more children and youth in each country by establishing school – based agriculture and environmental concerts which is attended by the eminent artists.

The most interesting way to encourage children and youth is by taking action with some real activities. In other hand, UNFAO appoints some ambassadors for YUNGA from the prominent artists such as Anggun C. Sasmi (songwriter – singer from Indonesia and French) and Valentina Vezalli, (Italy?s World Olympic fencing champion).

"Agriculture is second to none" is the saying that I envy a lot. That is why I'm the student of agriculture. That is why I love agriculture.

Well agriculture is so interesting and fun field to learn and to experience! The problem is that children and youth can't get enough chance to access to experience agriculture on field.

Achmad-Thanks for sharing your viewpoint. I feel a course on agriculture should be added in school curriculum to educate children from their school days about agriculture and it's derivatives as you said. YUNGA is a good initiative.
