Book Shelter "The First One in Indonesia" Lampung Youth in Action! |

Youth in Action (YOA!) is a platform for young people in Lampung to unite and work together for making Lampung better. Officially, YOA! established on February 8, 2013. Currently, membership of Lampung YOA! which consists if the executive team, project committee, and volunteers from spread across a number of universities, including the University of Lampung, Polytechnic of Lampung, Bandung Institute of Technology, Sumatera Institute of Technology, Telkom University, University of Indonesia, Bina Nusantara University, Indonesia Institutes of Statistics (STIS), and others.
As a first step, YOA! has successfully organized the first forum of young people around Lampung Province (from 15 cities in Lampung) on September 15 till August 17 in last 2013. This forum generates a map of potential and problem solving for each city their represented. The rsults of this mapping was premissed YOA! to move together to build Lampung Province. Based on the results of the first forum, an idea to run a project was appeared among the members of Lampung YOA!. "BOOK SHELTER YOA!" is the big first project from us. The shelter is like a box which needing someone to feed some books to it. The shelter system seems like your saving-box at home. You just have to get some books or old books that would you send as a gifts to the unlucky children in Lampung Province, then you full fill the shelter by putting the books in. it's that simple!.  All people can donate any various types of books, which later will be distributed to a number of orphanages, home public schools, home public reading in Lampung Province. This project was one of sustainable projects that in a long term, we expect to bring a new habit for people to increase the education in Lampung and work together. Big thanks to all those people who have collaborated with us in BOOK SHELTER YOA! (FIRST PROJECT). Hopefully the books which donated by all of you can inspire others to do best things in their life. And for the future plan of the book shelter, my friend (Sukmayanti) and me as the committee of Lampung YOA! are inviting all the ambassadors and all members of TUNZA-Eco Generation to join us by donating some of your (old) books at home for making a new public library for unlucky children in Lampung Province. Your first initiative is a noble act. The box seems full already. I had always donated books every year. This is quite fun & the fact that you are helping the under privileged makes it great!

Really impressive. I think I will follow you and carry this act in future myself. In our college we donated books to library and now i think we can do that for the needy children. thank you again.

"BOOK SHELTER YOA!" is a very interesting and noble project. This way you are recycling the old books and helping the underpriviledged. All the best. Design of the box is very good as well.

YOA! is a wonderful group of young, passionate people!!
I like the way how you made a box so that people can freely put in their leftover books.
Also, the clear design shows the amount of books piled in.
In my home, my family and I sell my old books cheaply to children who really need them.
With the money, I buy more books and read them.
