This is the pictures of a natural lake. Lake Retba of Senegal, Africa is pink in colour. The people in Senegal call it ?Lac Rose? or the ?Pink Lake?. Sometimes it turns purple depending on the effect of sunlight during the day.
It is so named for its pink waters, caused by Dunaliella salina algae in the water that produce a red pigment used to absorb light, which provides energy to create ATP, turning the waters pink. The color is particularly visible during the dry season. The lake is also known for its high salt content, which, like that of the Dead sea, allows people to float easily. The lake also has a small salt collecting industry and was often the finishing point of the Dead sea, before it moved to South America in 2009. Not many living organisms are able to survive in Lake Retba because of its high salt content, so it serves mainly as a tourist point and for salt production. For most of the year salt fishing is the major activity of the lake. In fact, if you decide to visit the lake, you will constantly see salt collectors working at the lake. Workers spend 10-12 hours a day in the water scraping salt from the lake bed, their skin rubbed with butter from the shea nut to protect it from the inhospitable salinity of the water. This salt is extracted by locals from the bottom of the lake using their hands, then placed into baskets it is transported to the shore where it is used mainly to preserve fish. The lake is only 3 square kilometers big (about 1,1 square miles) and there is no major town developed along its shores. Lake Retba is under consideration by the World Heritage Committee for inclusion as a World Heritage Site. Article Source- http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_RetbaIMAGE SOURCE- GOOGLE |

Nature has much to offer but we Humans wither it second by second.."Yeah we Humans".
because humans is the only being who pollutes our Beautiful Mother Earth so badly.
