Today we launched the UAE Green Festival in our school DPS-Sharjah. It was great green day packed with green activities as per the below agenda.   Mr. P.R. Jagannathan, the Sustainability Manager at Trakhees-EHS, Dubai, was our chief Guest for the event along with Mr. Mr. Sarfraz H,Legend in Energy-201,) and Mr. Anoop K..Menon ,CPIIndustry,Editor Power and Water Magazine and BGreen  as our Guests of Honour.

The event started with tree plantation at Eco Garden wherein our Principal Mam , chief guests and we the students planted trees. Then we moved to the auditorium wherein the event was declared open by our chief guest.

I was glad that I as Secretary of Eco Committee was given the opportunity to compere and handle the entire event alongwith another student coordinator Maryum.  We presented the Eco/Green Accolades of our school in academic year 2013-2014 where we showed our green achievements like installing solar panel in our school , setting up Eco Garden (where manure comes from the compost out of Bokashi bins) , Eco Park(where everything is made from scrap) , Bokashi bins(to make compost from organic waste) , Sustainability awards won by our school last year , by our Environment Coordinator this year , my Green Olympiad achievement of topping the Middle east in Environment exam , my and Unmesh's participation in GYELS and our school selected as one of the Eco schools.

After the presentation of Eco Accolades of our school, group of students performed a beautiful dance on environment theme , then I and Maryum conducted quiz with students and chief guests. We gave opportunity to chief guests to ask questions to our students to check their environment knowledge. Then I , as Tunza Eco Gen ambassador , introduced Tunza Eco Generation and spoke about Eco Gen. I was joined by another Eco Gen ambassador and my dear friend Rohan Kapur . We spoke about Tunza Eco gen which was heard attentively by all students , teachers and chief guests.

Finally I concluded the event by reciting poem on "SAVE THE PLANET" written & composed by me  which was applauded by all.

It was a great event and everyone seemed to have fun . I am sure that everyone  went back with green thoughts , green objectives and Tunza Eco gen in their minds and memories.
