Upto 40% less energy is being used for pavement construction and maintenance in UAE's capital Abu Dhabi.
While new pavements are being built with geogrids or crushed concrete waste , material from pavements that need to be refurbished is being recycled and used to reconstruct them. This is a good strategy /initiative by Abu Dhabi Municipality , and makes pavement construction and maintenance more sustainable in Abu Dhabi. Such new building strategies result in significant reductions in carbon emissions and costs. .
