waste management-a challenge in my area

Waste Management- a challenge.
I've chosen this particular topic because I see waste being dumped all round without a second thought. Visakhapatnam, my city is a beautiful place nestled between the Eastern Ghats  and the sea. From atop a favourite tourist spot, The Kailas Giri, the view of the city is breathtakingly splendid but unfortunately a close-up view presents an altogether different picture. Recently I saw a photo exhibition titled, ?the beauty and the beast? which juxtaposed visakhapatnam?s natural beauty with the man-made mess. Though GVMC, the local governing body is makes its presence felt with the huge garbage bins placed at every street corner, that its not able to manage well is also clearly seen with garbage overflowing everywhere.
The situation is worse in the interiors at places with people living among piles of garbage and plastic strewn all around. Why is it that people sweep and clean their houses, collect all their waste neatly in plastic bags and throw it out in their backyard without realising that they are messing up their own backyard? It?d be a lot better if they just threw their waste without the plastic cover, at least it would decompose faster. I wish people are educated to manage their waste in a better way and the authorities too did their part fastidiously giving no reason for complaints.

Yeah thank you Vandrangi! The quality of education gets extreamly important when it comes to wast disposal or recycle. Because it is a matter of daily habit. Ideal disposal is only possible on the basement of well educated people.
