Many women in Nepal are constantly carrying heavy
objects for hours and hours, just to ensure that there is water to use in their home. The water, however, is contaminated, dirty, and dangerous to use. However, to them, dirty water is better than no water at all.
In order to support the women who are in charge of labor work every day, my school decided to raise money for the women in Nepal. We decided to raise about 300-500 dollars within our school community, in order for a well to be built in Nepal. The well will provide clean water for the women and their families without the tormenting work!
I was in charge of selling baked goods and items from Nepal (picture on the bottom) and we raised OVER 500 dollars. I was thrilled by the results! I also took a moment to realize how important water is in our every day lives, and how much we take advantage of it.
Whether its through taking a 20min shower, or leaving the tap on when brushing my teeth, I was not conscious of the water I waste every single day. By actively being involved in supporting the women who do not have access to clean water, I decided to be more aware of the amount of water I use.
How awesome is it to have clean water?
Very. And so we must learn to conserve it, and be able to provide clean water for more and more people all around the world.

Yes! It's a great problem with pure drinking water in Nepal especially in villages of Nepal. The condition is so pathetic that womens and children have to walk many hours to fetch drinking water and due to this most of the children in Nepal cant go to school. This is one of the most important problem to be reported in Nepal. Thank you Erika for broaching up this issue and taking action from your side.

Congrats and really well done for raising funds for such a great noble cause. Yes , I fully agree with you that we should save and conserve water. We should not waste water and use it judiciously. Every drop saved is a drop gained. Thanks for inspiring us.
