Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE script>AR-SAscript> On the 10th of May, 2014 I was able to speak at a Pecha Kucha event at the Maraya Community Centre,Sharjah,U.A.E.
Pecha Kucha, which is the Japanese word for chatter, is the art of concise presentation which follows a 20x20 format.
This means that the presenter is given 20 seconds to explain each of 20 slides relating to his or her idea, invention or business, beginning at20:20.
As the youngest presenter ever, I made a presentation on the environment. It started by clarifying the meaning of terms like the environment, the difference between a natural and artificial environment and the Greenhouse Effect .
The contribution of human activity to pollution was then connected to a rise in temperature through a cause-effect-result relationship.
It was then that I posed the big question: WHAT CAN I DO?
I explained that simple actions could be taken through conviction conceptualization and implementation .This could be done through spreading awareness after garnering information and gaining awareness. Here, I was able to highlight the work of environmental groups like TUNZA Eco generation in their efforts to conserve the environment. In doing so, we can lead by example though the continual implementation of these environmental principles.
I elucidated the importance of implementing a few, simple steps in their everyday lives that reduce consumption and help conservation, and elaborated on these steps. I concluded by stating the fact that if each individual put these steps into action, we could change our homes, our communities, our nations and eventually, our world.
After the presentation, I distributed TUNZA Eco generation resources to help them in their environmental endeavors.
On the whole, it was an enriching and an enjoyable experience in which I learned a lot and was able to spread environmental awareness and make people conscious of the efforts of TUNZA Eco generation while positively affecting the lives of others.
