Should youth take out rallies in the streets and protest to bring change or do activism?Youth have always been agent of change and a catalyst of activism. However common perception is the rallies in the streets is the only way of activism though there are other means with which activism can be done, one is creative activism. Power shift Nepal have adapted the path of creative activism to bring about the change. Ratnapark the common heritage of Kathmanduties was deteriorating day by day, but the actions initiated by KMC and contribution made by Power shift Nepal is redefining the identity of the park. In this context, PSN through its actions and philosophy, Sharing Responsibility, Ensuring Sustainability have started creative activism by directly contributing to maintenance of the park while they are regularly following up their action motivating park authority to ensure sustainability of their contribution, Recently the Power shifter in quest of redefining the identity of park as knowledge park as well organized an event to disclose the gems of the park.

What could be the gems of a park?? no doubt its flora fauna and the satisfaction of being in the lap of nature. Ratnapark is redefining its identity from a vendors' hub and ground of political exercise to a park for nature lover and rest seekers.

Besides, Power Shift Nepal has attempted to develop a park for those as well who want to know about plants available in the park. For the same along contributing in maintaining the park, PSN team has put the description of floral species found in the park, now can see know about the plants while enjoying the shade of the plant!!!

On June 21, Power shifters planted 80 flowers on the eastern side (seen from trichandra campus-old buspark road), 10 plantlets of Dhupi near the western side of Ratnapark (seen from sahidgate-jamal road), kept description plate of 25 species, witnessed the blooming of flower planted on May 22 on the occasion of Biodiversity day, and observed clean pond that we cleaned on April 22.

After putting so much effort Ratnapark management committee have trusted PSN for their work and effort and further looking for other actions....but before doing further action they are checking how good they take care of what Power shifters have contributed.

Power shifters have vowed to check these hard earned resources when they visit in or around Ratnapark next time...They have realized that its time for creative activism-ensure sustainability of work that they have done and make responsible authority accountable for it- Lets shift Power-share responsibility ensure sustainability.

So far the Ratnapark management team is looking after the contribution made by PSN, in that terms the activism done by PSN is being successful and is being appreciated by all. In that sense, we think, rallies road is not the ultimate way from where activism starts or protest cant be the solution to every problem!! there's another way Creative Activism!!
