Thank you for your participation.

    Arushi Madan (UAE)
Earth Hour 2017 was on Saturday 25th March between 8.30PM and 9.30PM. As I am in UAE these days for my vacation, so I celebrated Earth Hour here.
This year too, rather than travelling to large public events and being a part of gala, pomp and show, I decided to celebrate it in my own meaningful way. Because I truly believe that Earth Hour is a campaign that can be done anywhere. All you need to do is turn off the lights by 8:30pm and you've done your part in saving the environment. Below are the small ways in which I celebrated Earth Hour and made it memorable and meaningful.
Wrote a poem under candle-light : This Earth hour, under candle light I wrote a poem, dedicated to Earth Hour. I am not a poet but this is my token of love for Mother Earth.
    Here goes the poem:
Clock struck 8.30, here comes Earth Hour
Switch off the lights and show your power.
Lights out at Burj Khalifa, lights out at Eiffel Tower
Enjoy 'Lights out', Celebrate Earth Hour.

    Protect what's given for free
    Sky, water, wildlife and tree.
Sun is free, use solar power
Water is scarce, take shorter shower.

Keep your surroundings neat & clean
So, there is no pollution seen.
Plant trees if you need bower
    Save energy every hour.

Love animals, birds, love every creature
Enjoy and be in harmony with nature.
Don't cut trees, don't pluck flower
    Celebrate Earth, beyond Earth Hour.
        Luh Putu Budiarti (Indonesia)
Earth Hour logo '60 + 'indicates 60 minutes turn off the lights in Earth Hour as early ACTION energy-efficient lifestyle.
Focus on positive action to reduce emissions of CO2.
The '+' indicates a commitment to jointly start doing energy-efficient lifestyle. In addition, Earth Hour is not only done for 60 minutes only, but also followed by changes in lifestyle every day. Starting from the use of public transport, cycling, water saving, do not litter, sorting and recycling, saving paper, to gardening and planting trees.
SAVE OUR EARTH, FOR BETTER FUTURE. #EarthHour #ChangeClimateChange with #EcoGeneration

Sometimes, it is necessary to be in the dark, so you can shine a light.
On 25th March 2017, the entire was agog with excitement, as the world's most celebrated and popular environmental event, The Earth Hour took place from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, with the goal of reducing carbon emissions in a unified manner, with countries all over the world switching off the lights on their important landmarks, and citizens following the lead.
In the UAE, the world's 10th Earth Hour was majorly celebrated, as the responsible residents made sure to Change Climate
Change by switching off. However, in the emirates of Dubai and Sharjah, there were also celebrations where large amounts of people gathered to spend their time and truly verify that this environmental event has now become a festival.

This year for Earth Hour I was travelling and I wasn't able to attend the Earth Hour Walkathon held in my country. But this didn't stop me from doing my bit for the event. I still did something but very different from what I do every year. As I was travelling I was staying at a hotel apartment in Nepal I decided to go on 'Lights Out Mode' in our hotel room. At 8:30 I lit two candles on my desk and ate dinner with my family. I was surprised to see that even some areas of Nepal had turned their lights off and it really looked beautiful to see candles in the air.
The Earth hour event made me understand
the ways to live an eco-friendly life. We should have such events more often and practice these every day.
                  Asmita Pramanik (UAE)
Every hour is Earth Hour when we put our minds into conserving energy by switching off appliances when not in need. Earth Hour event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. On 25th March 2017, millions of people came together to symbolize their gratitude to Mother Earth by actively taking part in this event.
                    Justin Chung (South Korea)
This year, South Korea has actively participated in the Earth Hour Campaign. Many famous Korean celebrities volunteered in promoting Earth Hour campaign and many landmarks such as the Namsan Tower and the Hwaseong Fortress switched off their lights to show their support for the cause. Big companies like Samsung Electronics, Coway, and Sangha Farm all took part in this movement as well. Thousands of regular citizens also took part in this campaign.
                      Simran Vedvyas (UAE)
Earth Hour was organised by DEWA for the 10th consecutive year on Saturday, 25 March 2017 at Bay Avenue Park in Business Bay.
Lights went off at 8:30pm, joining millions around the world in this environmental event.
The importance of participating in Earth Hour, reflects its impact on climate change and its role in making a change.
This is achieved by making Dubai and cities around the world adapt to climate change, restore environmental balance, rationalise
the use of water and electricity, and reduce the use of plastic and paper.
