Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition

in Jubail, Saudi Arabia

 

   Samsung Engineering Saudi Arabia, together with Royal Commission for Jubail, would like to offer opportunities to the students in Jubail to explore the environmental awareness activities by sponsoring the competition winners of the Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition in Jubail to '2014 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit' with the theme of 'Climate Change and Sustainable City'

   Two winners of the competition will be given the opportunity to engage 2014 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit which includes Global Youth for the Environment Forum, GYELS sessions and excursions to Korea in order to advance their awareness, role and commitment in the environmental conservation and protection. The trip to GYELS in Korea will be in February 15 and fully sponsored by Samsung Engineering.

•   To raise awareness among youth within the community toward conservation 

   of the environment

•   To grow Eco-leaders in Saudi Arabia by enhancing global leadership resulting 

   from participating in the international event

•   To fulfill the social responsibility through educating the future generation

 

competition details

•      Eligibility: Intermediate school students in Jubail

*Applicants who reside in Jubail, Saudi Arabia must apply the 2014 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit via 'Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition in Jubail, Saudi Arabia'. Otherwise, submitted applications to wrong category(Global, India) will not be considered.

•      Application: November 18 – December 13, 2013

•      Topic: Climate Change and Sustainable City 

                – Our efforts to make Jubail sustainable

•      English Interview: Last week in December

                                  Samsung Engineering will visit the 10 finalists for English interview.

* Trip to Korea will last for 5 days from Feb 10 to Feb 15, 2014. Guardian from Royal Commission shall accompany the trip. All flights and accommodation will be covered with meal allowances also provided. Economy class flight tickets will be offered. Two winners shall share one twin room. English speaking skill is mandatory to participate in the program. Former delegates of the Global Youth for the Environment Forum are not eligible to enter the 2014 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit. For more details of the trip, please contact ecogeneration@samsung.com
