BEWARE, Please do not violate copyright laws, TUNZA Eco Generation

Hello, Tunza Eco-generation,

When you post your article, please keep in mind of courtesy of photos and images and please DO NOT copy and paste news articles from the internet.

We would like to inform you that Tunza Eco-generation team will delete the photos, images and news articles with copyright taken from the internet without prior notice from now on.

We kindly ask your understanding on these procedures.

Even there were several notices about intellectual property laws, still some articles are violating it unconsciously.

So we would like to inform you about examples of violation and their risks.

1. ¡°Downloading¡± images from blogs, movie films and any other sources and ¡°Posting¡± it without prior authorization from the original author

Even using just ¡°One¡± image from other source without permission is clearly the violation of the intellectual property law.

Even though you captured only one image from a blog or a video film, the original photographer and the film maker shall have the right to sue you.

*To learn how to find images without violating the Intellectual Property Law, please refer to <How to find a copyright free image from Google> section as below.

2. ¡°Copying¡± a news article from the website of the newspaper and ¡°Pasting¡± the article

It is much faster for us to say ¡°what on earth is okay with this matter?¡±.

We¡¯ll simply tell you. The answer is: quoting about the subject of the news article and sharing only the ¡°Title¡± and ¡°Link¡± of it

You might think that news article is about facts and you don¡¯t have to worry about the Intellectual Property Law for facts. But we should be aware of that news articles also carry the writer¡¯s original opinions and assessment on the fact.

Imagine somebody takes your presentation pretending that the material is his or her own presentation without your permission or any notice and gets good scores with it. How would you feel?

Instead, if the person only ¡°introduces¡± your presentation materials to back up his or her argument and provide the audiences of the ¡°link¡± of it, you will have feeling of being respected and your effort poured in the materials will be well paid off by increased number of viewers.

This is the basic logic of the Intellectual Property Law.

It¡¯s not for limiting the ground of your creation but it is for securing the right of original writer and creator.

Whenever you get confused on the Intellectual Property Law, you can make a right decision based on this logic.

We are looking forward to seeing various articles carrying your own thoughts and feelings without having any intellectual property issue.

If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask us.

With regards,

Eco-generation team

I can see that I have commented on this 4 years ago also. It is important for us to understand the difference between Reference and Plagiarism. From my side, I always try to write reports in my own words and credit the sources of information. At times we do share news from other sites and newspapers but it is important to cite the references and sources. Writing for this forum, I have learnt the different methods of referencing and citations.
Thanks Tunza E-Gen for giving us these guidelines.
My thanks also to my JEEA Group Facilitator Ms. Raneem Gashgari, who, during our submission for the JEEA Research Project guided me about the right way to quote references and the importance of it.
