Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition in India

Regional Preliminary Event

for

the Global Youth for the Environment Forum

to be held in Seoul, South Korea in February 2013

 

 

Samsung Engineering India jointly with Centre for Environment Education (CEE) would like to give opportunities to the students in India to explore the environmental awareness activities by sponsoring the winners of the Eco-generation Essay contest on the Environment.

Samsung Engineering India and Centre for Environment Education propose Eco-generation Essay contest on the Environment exclusive for the students attending intermediate schools. Winners will be given the opportunity to engage the Global Youth for the Environment forum in order to advance their awareness, role and commitment in environmental conservation and protection.

 

•  To raise awareness within the community toward the conservation of the environment
•  To fulfill the social responsibility through educating the future generation
•  To select qualified students who can actively participate in the Global Youth for the Environment Forum to be held in February, 2013 in Seoul, South Korea
•  To enhance global leadership resulting from participating in the international event

 

In order to encourage the practice and use of English as well as raise awareness on the environment, the Samsung Engineering and CEE will organize every year, "Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition for India". It is a unique opportunity for youths to initiate, research, write, and deliver an address to public audience. During this process to write an English essay, students can develop language skills and attitudes that enable them to speak to an audience with ease and in a different language. 

• Topic: How Climate Change affects our life - Climate Change and my efforts towards sustainable life

• Length and format: English essays within 1500 words

• Eligibility: Intermediate school students in India

• Submission date : November 19 ~ 30, 2012 (extended)

* Trip to Korea will last for 4 to 5 days in February, 2013. All flights and accommodation will be covered with meals. (Economy class flight tickets will be offered). English speaking skill is mandatory to participate in the Forum. Awardees who cannot participate in the Forum shall hand over the trip to the next recognized students.
