[Must-Read] 2014 Participation Guidelines |

Dear All Eco-generation members,
First of all, we wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR! We wish you can achieve all the things you wished in this year.
At the moment of a fresh new start, we would like to share the Participation Guidelines of the Eco-generation programs and events.
In this year, we will go Back to Basics. As many of you already know and feel, there have been a controversy on some users' behavior focusing only on winning prizes and certificates. To our regret, among those users, there actually were some users who participated in competitions in the inappropriate manners using loopholes in the rules.
After careful consideration, we've reached to a sad but clear fact that the loopholes in the regulations have led some users to play games in the wrong ways and we have let them cheat their conscience. Though we launched many programs and events to boom up our environmental networking platform but it misled a few of the users to behave in a wrong way.
As many of you already know, our purpose to launch this platform is to provide on-line space to share local environmental news, to learn about environmental issues, to promote environmental campaigns and to meet valuable fellows from all over the world. And growing environmentally aware and conscientious children and youth is another important purpose of Eco-generation initiative. Therefore, we have set our policy in 2014 with that regards. The new policies can be break down into 4 parts as written below.
1. Clean User System Eco-generation team will delete inappropriate articles and comments which violates the copyright laws severely, and which are insulting, offensive or provocative. Also any user who heavily violates Eco-generation's regulations will be received warning letter from Eco-generation team and his/her username can be blocked if the misbehaving user doesn't correct the pointed out behaviors on the TUNZA Eco-generation website.
We will appreciate it a lot if you encourage other members to actively post good articles and to upload articles which don't violate the copyright laws by putting kind comments on the posted articles.
2. Ambassador Program Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors are the representatives of Eco-generation initiative and platform. So they should be a good model for all the Eco-generation members. Therefore, we are going to strengthen the application of the copyright laws on the ambassador reports. As we'd already notified, reports copied from other websites, blogs and other source of media will not be counted as ambassador article and Eco-generation team will strictly warn the violation of the copyright laws.
Also Eco-generation team will refuse the term extension of any ambassador who is not adhere to promised posting schedule, who violates copyright laws even though he/she completed posting 12 ambassador articles.
Posting local environmental news regularly requires the Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors enormous time and efforts. So Eco-generation team will do its best to support the hardworking ambassadors with all possible means. And ambassadors who post good articles will be appreciated a lot by the Eco-generation team.
3. Invite & Win Contest Invite & Win Contest is meaningful because we could gain many valuable members through it. As we knew that inviting & encouraging many friends requires a lot of time and effort, we tried to provide the coolest awards like Galaxy Note. However, unfortunately, because of the expensive gifts, there have been a few users who collect activity points by making multiple usernames and by putting meaningless comments on the old posts.
So we decided to close the Invite & Win Contest because we never want any of Eco-generation members to learn these wrong behaviors.
As the result, we are planning to select the Best Eco-generation Member every quarter instead of the Invite & Win Contest. In short, we will make the Eco-generation website more beautiful instead of making it bigger.
To be the Best Eco-generation Member, activity point is still important. But we will see if the accrued point is from original postings and sincere comments put after really reading posts. Even though there're 10,000 activity points accrued, it will mean nothing if the points are from copied articles and meaningless multiple comments.
Articles written originally by the user and comments put after carefully reading posts will be appreciated a lot in the process of the Best Eco-generation Member selection.
4. Encouragement on using Forum page Ambassador report & World report pages are for long and detailed environmental articles. Thus many of you might feel pressure when you write articles on these pages. But there is a very easy and good solution to this problem. If you want to post shorter and simple articles or just want to share your feelings about environmental issues, you can use proper forum page. For your information, the minimum requirement for Ambassador report and World report is: 4 paragraphs and no violation on the copyright laws.
Do you hate complicated rules? We don't like too many rules too. But we need to revise & strengthen the rules to stick to our purpose and to keep fairness of the whole programs and events of Eco-generation initiative.
Do you like Eco-generation platform? We love every Eco-generation member and we carefully read every article and comment posted by our members. We assure you that your considerate and active participation will be appreciated by Eco-generation team regardless of how big or small. Also you can be sure that Eco-generation team will sincerely answer to your comments and e-mails.
We would appreciate if you understand our effort to retrieve Eco-generation's values and help us to make our platform clean and fair.

I just read this must read participation guide. I appreciate the efforts and simple yet effective policy outlined by Tunza Eco-generation. I support these guidelines intended for a fair competition and encouraging originality of participation. I will be following sincerely to the best of my understanding and hope other friends will too :)

These are good changes! Though I've just started using the platform, I could see how users might use the point system in an unfair way...Thanks for these new guidelines. I hope we can all continue to make this platform more beautiful :)

Agreed with Rohan and other members. So far what I have understood is this forum is more about sharing information and creating awareness and leaders those can take stand for environment. Competition are just a way to.motivate. but if we look into the competitions only then I am afraid Tunza Eco Gen may not be able to achieve the desired goal. I am sure members have realized that and they will be more fair and they will initiate logical discussions and comments in coming days along sharing their mind boggling ideas and articles.

The rules are quite simple to follow. I know one thing. If you are persistent, regular & honest in your efforts, you will never break any rule. Winning is one part of the entire experience. Participation is the key to success, rather fair participation. We all must take care to preserve the environment, its for our own benefit in the years to come. If we take care of our mother earth awards will follow.

Can participants use a certain source as an evidence to their opionion?I mean can they quote and mention the source as some topics need elaboration and support with other sources.

Glad to read clarity and fair system. Really appreciate it . This platform is the best environment platform I have seen and experienced so far so we all should try our best to maintain dignity , ethics , discipline and honesty on it. Let's try to make it a learning & contributing platform rather than a forum/paltform to misuse and play with . Thanks again to Ecogen. I love posting on Eco gen , reading others's articles on it and commenting on them. This is a great knowledge imparting forum.
