The PACT — a global collaboration of 26 youth-led and youth-serving organizations and networks working on HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights — in collaboration with UNAIDS and the Global Fund secretariat recently launched the tool ?Making the money work for young people: a participation tool for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria.? Divided into two parts, the publication is meant for young activists and youth organizations, as well as members of the Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) and other actors.

The tool includes basic information about the Global Fund for those who are not very familiar with the goals or the structure of the donor information about the new funding model and practical guidance and templates to help young activists become involved and put young people?s issues on the agenda in the different stages of the process. The other part of the publication aims to inform decision-makers on why youth participation is important and how young people can be involved with the different stages of the new funding model.

The publication was created based on a survey and interviews with young people who are already participating in CCMs, sub-recipients and watchdog organizations, a literature review, and key informant interviews.
