Green Kids Award 2014 Date: 03.02.2014 to 09.03.2014 Type: Online |
---|
More than 2,400 schools each year take part in Schools Clean Up Day, but their contribution does not end there. Many pupils and teachers undertake environmental projects and learn about sustainability in classrooms all year round. We have heard great stories of kitchen gardens, compost farms and worm farms, recycling stations and litter reduction initiatives and even energy-savings schemes. We want you and your classmates to tell us and show Australia the great work that you are doing, by entering the 2014 Green Kids Award. Prizes This year ALL finalists will be included in the dirtgirl music video, ?what a load of rubbish'. One Junior and one Senior National Winner will be selected from the finalists and receive a personal visit from dirtgirl. The winning schools will be able to choose one of three possible activities to do with her including 1) dirtgirl hosts a waste-free picnic 2) dirtgirl helps to facilitate a discussion or brainstorming session 3) dirtgirl mediates a debate. As an added bonus, the first 100 schools to register for Green Kids 2014 will receive a FREE album download of dirtgirlworld's 'the rubbish collection'. You will be notified by email if you are successful. Keen to enter? You can enter the competition if your primary school is participating in the 2014 Schools Clean Up Day (you must have already registered a CleanUp Site) and has started or has plans to implement your sustainability and environmental goals. We encourage you to really showcase all your hard work and enthusiasm for helping your local environment through artwork or video.
