Green Brain of the Year Contest

Date: TBD to 01/05/2014     Type: Online

METU NCC Sustainable Environment and Energy Systems Graduate Program, which has been established as a unique academic program in the Middle East to serve the most critical needs of our globe in the 21st century, proudly presents the Green Brain of the Year Contest. The contest has been devised to increase and enhance the international awareness of the Vital Triad: Sustainable Environment, Sustainable Energy, and Sustainable Water Resources among youth, specifically high school and university students.

Junior Green Brain of the Year Contest accepts submissions from high school students. The competitors are expected to form a team of two, come up with an original concept for a project to tackle a sustainability problem in support of the Vital Triad, and submit their work in a properly formatted paper of up to 1000 words in English. A limited number of figures and a table can be used to describe the addressed problem, the conceptualized solution as a system and/or a process flow. The electronic submissions through the Competition web site will be evaluated by a jury panel based on: Problem Relevance to Sustainability, Originality, Feasibility, and Impact of Concept Solution, Quality of Writing and Illustrations.
