NATIONAL LEVEL ESSAY COMPETITION on " SAVE FUEL"

DETAILS OF ESSAY COMPETITION

The essay competition is focused on making the youth of our country aware about the importance and

need of conservation of petroleum products.

(A) Essay competition is to be conducted in maximum of 15 languages as given below

(B) Eligibility

1. Students from Class VI to Class X are only eligible to participate.

2. The school should forward the best essay for each of the 15 languages along with the certificate

as per the format given below.

(D) Methodology

School Principals will conduct on the spot competition in their respective schools in one or more of the 15

languages as listed above. One best Essay in each of the participated languages is to be selected and

sent along with the information regarding number of students who have participated in each language

(with class they are studying in Hard Copy) to the Regional Nodal Officer as detailed below.

(E) Prizes

All the best entries received for schools, for each of the languages will be evaluated

by subject experts at PCRA Regional Offices. The First/Second/Third best entries for each language

will be awarded prizes as given below.

(F) Guidelines

1. Only handwritten essays are permitted. Typed/Individually sent /Online submitted essays would be

rejected.

2. Word limit would be approximately 1200 words for the essay competition.

3. Last date of receipt of entries from schools to PCRA Nodal Officers is 13.12.2013

4. There are No entry fees for participating the Essay Competition.

5. Individual prize-winners shall be intimated by PCRA to the student via the principal of the school.

6. Students whose parents are working with PCRA are not eligible to participate.

7. One student can participate in only one language/one essay topic of his/her choice. A student cannot

participate in more than one language.

8. In all matters of dispute, decision of ED (PCRA) shall be final and binding on all.

9. The prize winning essays under this competition shall be the property of PCRA and PCRA is free to

make use of these essays in public interest without paying any sort of compensation

10. While attending the prize distribution ceremony, Prize-winners should carry a letter from respective

school principal certifying the student?s particulars along with his/her school Identity Card.

(G) Travel

1. Reimbursement of travel for out-stationed winners only.

Only Out-stationed prize winners of Essay Competition who will be invited to attend the OGCF

Function in New Delhi shall be reimbursed by PCRA for to and fro cost of travel for self and for one

additional person on actual subject to a maximum of Rs. 2,500/- per person (i.e. Maximum

Rs.5,000/- for 2 persons) on submission of photocopy of ticket of out stationed travel.)

Road travel permitted only by bus (bus ticket to be produced) for prize-winners & one additional

person accompanying the prize-winners, on actual limited to the amount mentioned above.

Reimbursement for travel by car/taxi/or any other mode will not be made under any circumstances.

Reimbursement for local travel by any mode will not be made.

2. Reimbursement for stay for outstationed winners only.

Boarding and Lodging shall be reimbursed by PCRA to only the out-stationed prize winners and for

one additional person on actual, subject to a maximum of total Rs. 2,000/- per prize-winner (i.e.

Maximum Rs.4,000/- for 2 persons) for attending the prize distribution ceremony, on submission of

photocopy of hotel bill. Boarding and lodging charges will not be paid separately to any

person/relative of prize-winners for their stay.
