Entries will be judged and receive points according to five criteria: originality and appeal, adaptability to general farm use, ability to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources, cost-effectiveness, and personal safety. Preference will be given to relatively low cost innovations that save energy, and are safe for people and the environment.
The judges are seeking on-farm inventions and innovations. Entries cannot be a current available commercial product. The entry must be in operating condition and in use on the contestant?s farm and the farm property must be located within the Greenbelt planning area. Entries must not contravene legislation or municipal by-laws. Visit the ontariosoilcrop.org website for full contest rules.
Prize winners will be selected within six weeks of the entry deadline and notified by telephone or email. Up to three $1,500 CAD prizes may be awarded.
