Purpose: The Community volunteering programme is designed to help local, national and international volunteers/interns to gain experience, exchange knowledge and contribute to community development.

 

Job Title: Liberian/community programme leader

 

Location: University street of Buea,South West Region,Cameroon(Central Africa)

 

Key Responsibilities:

LIBRARY PROGRAMME

Select and order books required by users

Teach and guide users with easy access of books

Assisting users with easy access of books

Developing informative programme for users(pupils,students,teachers,researchers)

Daily checkout of books

Reorganize books  after checkout

Motivate users to use the library  for research and entertainment

Categorizing books and materials

Organizing and processing users request

Developing daily, weekly, monthly report( newsletters,brochure, blog,updating website)

 

LITERACY&VOCATIONAL TRAININGS PROGRAMME IN PRISONS AND JUVENILE CORRECTION CENTRE

 

Liaison with the various penitentiary administration

Developing training manuals,handout and action plan

Teach and guide the inmates ,and juveniles on capentary, tailoring,barbing ,computer,and agriculture)

Developing programmes & projects on vocational trainings in prison,juvenile correction centre,orphanage and schools

Developing  daily,weekly, monthly report( newsletters, brochure,blog,updating website)

 

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMMES IN SCHOOLS & LOCAL COMMUNITIES

 

Liaison with schools and local communities

 

Developing training manuals, handout and action plan

 

Teach and guide the pupils, students and local communities on the field.

 

Developing programmes &projects on environmental education and forest conservation

 

Developing  daily,weekly, monthly report( newsletters, brochure,blog,updating website)

 

 

 

Length of Appointment: 1month-1year

 

Time Commitment: 35hours per week (Mondays to Fridays)

 

Qualifications: Be above 20 years

                        Be able to speak and write English language

                        Be of Good Health Conditions

                        Be able to raise funds for the chosen project

 

Support Provided: Training for this position will be provided at the four-hour orientation session. In addition, the director of volunteers is available on an ongoing basis to answer questions and provide other assistance as needed.

 

Volunteer/Intern Fees: $ 300 monthly (Cover administrative, and accommodation cost)

 

Note that volunteer/intern will be responsible his/her feeding and transportation cost while in the country.
