Who can be nominated?
The WISE Prize recognizes an individual or a team of up to six people for an outstanding contribution to education. The achievements of the nominated individual or team should have had a significant and lasting impact upon education at any level and should demonstrate an inspiring and visionary approach.

Who can nominate?
Nominations can be submitted from individuals and institutions with a demonstrable commitment to education, such as:
    Government departments and ministries of education
    Non-governmental organizations with activities related to the field of education
    International organizations
    United Nations programs and agencies
    University, colleges and schools worldwide
    University associations (regional, national and international)
    Teachers? associations (national and international)
    Teachers? trade unions and professional associations
    Other professional societies and civil society organizations
    Cultural institutions
    Research facilities
    The media
    Private corporations with activities related to the field of education

Selection Process

As in previous years, nominations will be screened by an 11-person WISE Prize Committee which will make a pre-selection of no more than 15 candidates. An international Jury of distinguished individuals will consider the finalists and select the 2013 Laureate who will be announced at the 2013 Summit to be held on October 29 – 31, 2013 in Doha, Qatar.

How to make a nomination?

Step 1: Download and complete the official nomination form, available here. This form should be completed in English and should demonstrate how the person or the team has brought about substantial change and improvement to education and made a lasting impact, on a significant scale.

Step 2: Upload the completed nomination form on this website and provide information about yourself as well as contact details for two supporters who are willing to support this nomination. Please note that these supporters may be contacted to provide additional information on the nomination.
