The December before the final deadline for the Volvo Adventure environmental youth award is always busy and often we have people contacting us saying that they forgot to register. To try and avoid this it would be great if you could remind your networks that all they have to do is register and they can enter.  The link to register is http://www.volvoadventure.org/env_register.aspx - it's that simple! Do please remind them that, if they enter, they could receive international recognition for their project or be one of the teams invited to Sweden in 2013 (all expenses paid).

You will also notice that DESD has endorsed the Volvo Adventure, organised in partnership with UNEP for many years.  Each year the database of practical projects grows as people enter the award, and we have a fantastic record of actions and activity by young people: ranging from tree planting and vegetable growing through to drugs disposal and environmental health programmes.

We want to have a record of as many projects as possible as part of our contribution to the Decade. It?s a chance to show the number, variety and impact of actions young people can make to environmental problems.  So, for those groups in your network who are making practical steps, no matter how small, that want the chance to receive international recognition, we are asking:

1.       Can you register for the award at http://www.volvoadventure.org/env_register.aspx

2.       Go to the publication page

3.       Enter your projects: the form should not take too long to fill in

The deadline for project submission is midnight on 31^st January 2013. The projects published in the website's online Gallery  will be judged and have opportunities to receive certificates of commendation and for the best a chance to attend an all expenses five day final event in Sweden in June 2013.
