Webinar on Human Snake Conflict & Snake Conservation Date: TBD to TBD Type: Online |
On the Occasion of World Snake Day on July 16th, Veterinary Student for Animal Welfare ( Vet-SAW ) presents a webinar on " Human Snake Conflicts and Snake Conservation" inviting our Resource Person Mr. Sunil Sapkota, a snake rescuer and Founder President of Raise Hand Nepal. Human Snake Conflicts with deadly consequences have been observed for many decades, with high risk to children, farm animals, and especially the people in the tropical regions. Along with the human and animal fatalities, around the world, snake populations are in decline because of habitat destruction, disease, over-harvesting, invasive species, and even climate change. These combined threats have brought some snake species ever closer to the brink of extinction. So learn with us the ways to overcome the safety hazards brought by the aggressive snakes and their poisonous venom and the foremost steps required to protect and preserve these beautiful creatures, ultimately balancing the food chain on which we are completely relying on.
