Sustaining wildlife enriching biodiversity Date: 28/06/2021 to TBD Type: Online |
Did you know? Vulture is struggling between Extinction and Existence. Death of the 69 vultures in Nawalparasi on 20 April is a huge setback to Nepal¡¯s successful effort to protect the birds from extinction after they started dying mysteriously in the 1990s. Youth for Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture (YCSA) in collaboration with Wild Nepal is conducting TALK SERIES on ¡°Sustaining Wildlife: Enriching Nature¡±. Our Second Episode, Topic-2: ¡°Triumph: Journey from Vulture Vulnerability to Resilience¡± to bounce back from near Extinction to Existence and finally towards abundance. Time: 28 June, 2021 at sharp 11:00 am (Monday) The total number of vultures across Nepal declined from 1.6 million in the 1980s to less than 20,000 today. Although, Nepal is considered as role model for vulture conservation internationally due to saving the birds from near extinction. We have invited Mr.Deu Bahadur Rana, Project Officer of Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN), Vulture Conservation Programme based at vulture release programme Kawasoti , who is dedicated to conserve bird and biodiversity. Our Panelist will demystify the following conditions; 1. Present situation of Vulture 2. Policy and implementation gap 3. Conservation Strategy 4. Major Threat to Vulture 5. Vulture role in Ecosystem 6. How to bounce back from near Extinction to Existence and finally towards abundance? 7. Role of each individual, society, government, NGOs, and INGOs to conserve and enhance wildlife. Link for tomorrow webinar https://auburn.zoom.us/j/86125615764
