Livestock farming is an important agricultural sub-sector of Nepal. According to report by MoALD 2075, Livestock sector contributes about 26.8% to Agricultural Gross Domestic Product (AGDP) and about 11.8% of National Gross Domestic Product (NGDP). While livestock farming in itself holds a great potential of changing the country's economy. It sometimes gets hindered by sudden outbreak of diseases like Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), African Swine Fever (ASF) and many other. So, in-depth knowledge about various diseases outbreak, their control and management has become a necessity to agriculturists, veterinarians and most importantly to the farming community for sustaining the livestock industry of our country. So to address this necessity LCBC has decided to organize a special webinar in close collaboration with Nepal Veterinary Student Association (NVSA-NPI). Details of the events is as follows: Event Details: TOPIC: "Emerging diseases threats in Livestock industry of Nepal" Speaker: Dr. Surendra Karki [Dr. Karki is currently working as a National Technical Coordinator at Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN-ECTAD, Nepal. He has completed his Masters degree and PhD in Epidemiology from University of Illinois, USA.] Moderator:Leo Aabhas Aryal (Tail-twister Leo Year 20/21) Program Module: Session 1: Program initiation and Introduction, Session 2: Presentation from the speaker, Session 3: Discussion session which covers Q & A round where questions obtained from this form will be discussed and participants shall directly interact to the speakers.
