Online Proofreading and Copyediting Training Date: 5 july 2020 to 5 july 2020 Type: Online
This one day online training event will orient the participants about the conceptual and practical aspects of proofreading and copyediting. The training will generally cover the following content: - Basics of proofreading and copyediting, - Some typical proofing errors (typical proofing problems) - Proofing marks - Proofreading for accuracy (proofreading symbols, proofreading checklist, common spelling and punctuation errors) - Proofreading for consistency (making sense of the changing language, using style guides, making the right editing decisions) - Proofreading methods - Styles - Editing - Structural editing (document structure, using paragraphs, using headings) - Copy editing (sentence structure, choosing words well, ‘tone’ of a document) Participation Fee: NPR 500 Participation Process: Interested participants are required to fill in a Google Form to register your name and contact details.
