Webinar on Supporting Children¡¯s Mental Health and Well-Being in Conflict and Crisis, A Case Study of No Limit Gen Date: 02/04/2020 to 02/04/2020 Type: Online |
When: Thursday, April 2, 2020 9:00-10:00 a.m. EDT About this webinar: There are over half a billion children who live in conflict or crisis affected countries. Among them, 35 million are globally displaced and refugee children. Despite rising numbers, less than 0.14% of global humanitarian aid is currently allocated to child mental health and psychosocial needs. Samier's talk will address the current challenges in the field, and offer Scalable Strategies to Support Children¡¯s Mental Health and Well-being in Conflict and Crisis Environments. The individual impact of extreme and/or prolonged stress holds life-long physical and mental health consequences for the child. Collectively, the impact to an entire generation of children contributes to the propagation of violence, instability, and poverty locally, and globally. Additionally, front-line aid-workers/caregivers often lack the experience, resources, or access to proper and timely guidance to sustain healing and supportive environments for children, especially during the period of early childhood. No Limit Generation's research shows the gaps in the existing ToT model and offers a more innovative, scalable, and sustainable way forward. No Limit Generation¡¯s (NLG) global child well-being training platform was designed to address this global challenge. NLG equips aid workers, educators, caregivers, and guardians with the holistic guidance they need to better support vulnerable children. By nurturing children¡¯s¡¯ mental health and emotional well-being during the critical ages of development, they have the opportunity to heal, thrive, and become change-agents for a better world. Speaker: Samier Mansur, Founder and Executive Director, No Limit Generation¡¯s (NLG) You can register your name through: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/supporting-childrens-mental-health-and-well-being-in-conflict-and-crisis-tickets-100820300232
