Hello everyone warm greetings and Green Cheers!! I am Bindu Dhakal from the beautiful city of Chitwan Nepal. I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science at Agriculture and Forestry University. I like to be called an environment activist and green living advocate. This time I am presenting about different environmental conservation efforts by my different friends whom I study with. I believe directly or indirectly I have been inspiring them to do so. My Green Living is a series of the report at Eco-tunza generation, for easier understanding each day I will be featuring 1 green living lifestyle. In this episode, I am sharing the story of myself. I am trying to achieve zero waste by implementing garbage cum fertilizer beside my house. The picture below is the compost bin to collect the biodegradable waste from the kitchen. And after the process of composting the waste is converted into compost manure which can be used in a kitchen garden. In this way, we can replace chemical fertilizer with natural fertilizer which ultimately improves our health by having healthy vegetables. Chemical fertilizers harm our health as well as in environment because they affect microorganisms in the soil and induce different plant diseases. In humans, if we consume the food grown by using chemical fertilizer it may cause diseases like hemoglobin disorders, diabetes mellitus. That¡¯s why I don¡¯t recommend anyone to use chemical fertilizers. |
