by Meena Pandey | 04-10-2020 12:50 recommendations 0

Dogs have become one of the most beloved creature in the world. Their loyalty and obvious affection for mankind are legendary. Dogs have proven invaluable because of their unique physiology, in helping man in a number of useful ways. Beyond the emotional satisfaction, they give to us, they display some amazing and interesting qualities. We had one pet dog called ¡®Kaley¡¯. Exactly, I donot know its breed however, in common language of Nepali it used to be called ¡® Bhotey Kukur¡¯. We had it on our life for 9 years. We had regarded him as the incarnation of my mother¡¯s sister who had passed away as we brought it in our home after 3 months we lost her. Kaley was very loyal to us. Bringing anguish and pain in us, God took Kaley with her few months ago in pretend of Parvo virus in Kaley. He had shown ailment just for 2 days and at the third day before the arrival of veterinarian, he passed away bringing tears in us.  No dog can replace his remembrance and faith from our heart. We have decided not to have pet dogs till now after the demise of Kaley. However, being cynophile I love to play with puppy and dogs of my neighbor.    Here I have presented some of them

1)     Dogs express themselves through body language the same as people do.

2)     Dogs use their tails whether consciously or unconsciously to talk to humans, other dogs or other animals.

3)     If the tail is stiff and straight, it usually means that the dog is expressing aggression.

4)     A wagging tail may not mean that the dog is happy.

5)     Studies shows, it the dogs wag his tail to the left, it means he is frightened.

6)     If a dog is wagging his tail slowly back and forth and his body is rigidly pointing in our direction, we should stay out of his space.

7)     A dog¡¯s dense of smell is more than 10,000 times greater than that of man.

8)     The mucous on the surface of the dog¡¯s nose helps him to define a scent, as well as helping him to determine the direction it is coming from.

9)     There are some smells that are undetectable to human but can be discerned by dog.

10)  Recent studies also have shown that dogs can smell cancer in the body of a human.

11)  They are able to map out landmarks, scents and sounds by a kind of an inner compass.

12)  The interesting thing is that the researchers have discovered that if magnets are attached to the dogs of they lose their sense of direction.

13)  Some dogs are highly fearful of storms. They will bark, shake, hide or soil the carpet.

14)  There are more than 300 species of dogs.

15)  Around 120 of species has already extinct.

16)  Dogs are estimated to be descendants of wolf.

17)  They are only animal in the kingdom that can read the emotions on our face like humans.

18)  Puppies have 28 teeth while adults have 42.

19)  Newfoundland has water resistant coats and webbed feet, bred to help fisherman and rescue people at risk of drowning.

20)  Dogs only sweat through the pads of their feet; no sweat glands in their feet.

21)  Dogs leg contains a special membrane called the ¡®tapetum lucidum¡¯ which allows them to see in the dark.

22)  In addition to sweating through the paw pads, dogs pant to cool themselves off.

23)  Dogs have three eyelids an upper eyelid, lower eyelid and the third eyelid. The third eyelid keep the eye moist and protected.

24)  Dogs have around 1700 taste buds but human have 9000.

25)  Dogs hear best at 8,000 Hz while humans hear best at around 2,000 Hz.

26)  Limping of dog can be due to a host of things from a thorn stuck in their paw to arthritis. However, in some occasions, limping can also be a sign of bone cancer.

27)  It turns out that a chemical in chocolate called theobromine is toxic and can seriously, even fatally affect your dog if t ingests between 100 and 150 milligrams per kilogram of weight.

28)  Dog meat is common dish in some countries in Asia such as South Korea. However, in some countries like West and Islam, the killing and eating dog is considered to be banned and cruel.

29)  The global dog population is estimated to be 900 million, of which 83% are unrestrained.

30)  The life span of dog of 10-13 years.
